Erbium is a chemical element with the symbol Er and atomic number 68. A silvery-white solid metal when artificially isolated, natural erbium is always found in chemical combination with other elements.Erbium is slowly oxidized by air and water at room temperature.

Application

 

The most prominent use of erbium is to manufacture Erbium Dopant Fiber Amplifier (EDFA). Another application hot spot of erbium is laser, especially as a medical laser material. Used as laboratory reagent, optical glasses, structural ceramics, catalysts, electrical components and photo-optical material.

 

Another application hotspot of erbium is laser. Erbium laser is a solid-state pulsed laser with a wavelength of 2940nm, which can be strongly absorbed by water molecules in human tissues, so that a larger effect can be obtained with a smaller energy.
